Centre and alignment. Much of our method concentrates on the use of the centre. Our aim is to provide a stable centre from which all movements can flow and is essential in improving posture, technique and can help in injury prevention. Alignment is the key to what makes Pilates so different from other exercise techniques; it is the precise manner in which it is performed that makes it so effective. Good placement of the body whilst exercising ensures control and isolation of the working muscles, economy of effort and reduction of tension
